Practical Advantages

The modern steel roof from Fielders is lighter, stronger, easier to erect and maintain than any other contemporary roofing material. High tensile, high strength steel is stronger and much lighter than other roofing materials. It needs less structural support and can represent savings up to 20% of first fix building costs. Concrete, terracotta and asbestos sheetings are up to 10 times as heavy creating much more stress.

Flexibility of Design

Steel roofing can be adapted to almost any shape, and can be smooth curved in corrugated finish, or by "cranking" using a series of dents to curve the material. The smooth undented finish is more attractive and tighter radii down to 300mm can be achieved. By not using the denting process of cranking there is less chance of damage to the steel coating and the paint finish. Curving is obviously a beautiful way of using the steel and is unmatched by any other roofing material. Fielders new range of 1 degree decking is a more economical product which is more weather proof and faster to lay.

Easy to Use

Fixing is fast. Being lighter and stronger than other roofing materials time is saved by fitting fewer batons and rafters. The pre-cut lengths of Fielders steel roofing are quickly fixed directly onto the batons with self drilling screws or clips. Ridge capping is fastened in minutes, giving you a smart fitting, super strong roof for many generations to come.
